Married Mary F. Mead - 05 Nov 1867 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:

Elder E. W. Walker - This good man, who died at his residence near Fayetteville January 29, 1901, was 65 years old. He removed to this county from Grundy County in 1886 and first engaged in teaching school. He was one of the organizers of Primitive Baptist Church at Buckeye in 1870, and soon after entered the ministry. He possessed a string and vigorous mind and was a logical expounder of the scripture. His was a useful life and his works live after him.
