Notes

Note 1

Worth Montgomery Saxon was my maternal grandfather. My understanding is that he was actually born in 1900, but lied about his birthday to enlist in WWI - not sure if that one’s true or not, though he definitely fought in Germany.

He followed his dad into the Texas oil fields and eventually became the general manager for Pure Oil Company, which was purchased in the 1950’s. He died in early April, 1975, in Lawrence, KS, where he is buried next to his wife, Frances Renner Saxon.

They had two children. Their daughter, Anne Martha Saxon Slater, was born in 1938 and died in 2006. She married John Frederick Slater (1936-1987); I am their oldest child, Martha Jeannette Slater b. 1969 and my sister, Marlis Eleanor Slater, was born in 1973. My daughters are Clarke Worth Waskowitz b. 1996 and Hannah Louise and Emily Pearl Waskowitz b. 2000. Marlis’s oldest son, Benjamin Diogenes Taboga, was born in 2001, and her son Luke Montgomery Taboga was born in 2003.

Worth and Frances also had a son, Joseph Terry Saxon, born in 1939, who passed in 2009. He married Jan Bertolin Saxon b. 1943-. Their daughter, Anne Janette Saxon was born in 1964. Jane Saxon Player was born in 1968; she and her husband Shain have two children. Alec Player was born in 1991, and Ashley Player was born in 1992.
