James was born on 11 Jun 1890 in Webster County, Mississippi, the son of William Henry Shelton and Georgia Alice Casaday.

He died on 6 Mar 1962 in Mississippi County, Arkansas.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Myrtle Peeples, who he married in 1915. The place has not been found. They had no known children.

His second wife was Margaret Pauline Hall, who he married in 1926. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Georgia Eloise (1928-1977), J. B. (1929-2019), Audrey Wayne (1931-2020) and Joyce (c1934-?).

Mrs Margaret "Pauline" Hall Shelton, 87, of Marion, AR, died Sunday Sept 28, 1997 at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis, AR.

She was born April 3, 1910. Formerly of Osceola she was a homemaker and member of the First Assembly of God.

Her husband Obediah Shelton and daughter Eloise Jenne` predecease her.

Survivors include two sons: JB Shelton of Tulsa, OK, and Wayne Shelton of Starkville, MS, one daughter Joyce McFarland of West Memphis, AR, six grandchildren and 11 great grand-children.

Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 11 at Roller Swift Funeral Home of Osceola with burial following in Garden Point Cemetery.

He leaves his wife Georgia Alice Cassidy Shelton of the home, children: Leona Shelton Blaylock of Marked Tree, William D " Willie D" Shelton of Payneway, James Obediah Shelton, Cleora Shelton Chrisman of Etowah, Mrs Naomi Moore of Marked Tree, Joe Rob Shelton of Marked Tree, John Wesley Shelton of CA, Mrs Eunice Wallace of Lepanto, Awalt Shelton and Lloyd C Shelton of the Hatcher community.

He is buried in Garden Point Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his grand-daughter: Lois Evelyn Shelton .
