Lemuel was born about 1763 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, the son of Gabriel Shelton and Elizabeth Shepherd.
He died in 1848 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia.
He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Lettice Weeks Shelton, who he married on 2 AUG 1796 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Their only known child was Hubbard Coleman (1805-1878).
His second wife was Mary S Gosney, who he married on 31 JAN 1829. The place has not been found. They had no known children.
