Jerry Clyde Davis, 45, died Oct. 23, 2006.

Born Feb. 20, 1961, in Memphis, he graduated from Williams Baptist College in May 2005 with a degree in business administration. He was a decorated veteran of both the U.S. Marine Corps and of the U.S. Army, earning the Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, National Defense Service Medal, Multinational Force and Observers Medal, Marine Corp Good Conduct Medal, Air Assault Badge, Army Commendation Medal (Second Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster), overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Badge with Rifle Component Bar, and the Army Good Conduct Medal.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Kitle Davis. Survivors include a son, Zachary Thomas Davis, Hollister, Calif., his mother, Jo Culbertson Davis, Star City; and two brothers, Robert K. Davis and Thomas F. Davis, both of Star City.

Funeral was Friday at 10 a.m. at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Bro. Allen Hagood officiating. Burial was in Butler/Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Service of Star City.
