Notes

Note 1

G. T. Walker was born in Tennessee in 1853, and came to Texas with his father in 1879. He obeyed the gospel when he was 21 years old under the preaching of T. M. Sweeny. He was raised in the Baptist faith, and is ever thankful that he learned the truth as it is in Christ. He began preaching about ten years after he became a Christian, and has devoted much of his time to the work since that date. Most of his work has been in West Texas, in destitute places. While but little of his work has been reported through the papers, he stats that he has been reasonable successful, considering the field in which he has labored. He has been a close student of the Bible and is quite pronounced in his convictions. --- Gospel Preachers Who Blazed the Trail by C. R. Nichol, 1909, 192.
