James E. "Jim" Young, 81, of Conway, passed away June 1, 2012 at St. Andrew's Place Nursing Home. He was born November 26, 1930, in Carlisle, Arkansas, to German "G.P." and Susie (Glover) Young. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a 1st Lieutenant from 1952-1954. Upon graduation he went to work for City Service Oil Co. and in 1956 went to work in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas as Agency Manager for Farm Bureau of Lawrence Co. In 1961 he bought two independent insurance agencies in Walnut Ridge. Jim was president of the Walnut Ridge Chamber of Commerce, Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Walnut Ridge Country Club. He was also honored for his contributions to the March of Dimes. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Donald P. Young; and a sister, Audrey Stainton.

Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Jean (Schafer) Young; two daughters, Deborah "Deby" (Young) Langeloh (Greg) of Crandall, Texas and Janet Young of Morrilton; one grandson, Bradley James Langeloh; and a host of nephews and friends.

Jim's graveside service, with military honors, will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2012, at Carlisle Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home-Conway 327-7727.
