Elizabeth was born on 17 Mar 1750 in Mt. Airy, Richmond, Virginia, the daughter of John II Tayloe and Rebecca Plater.

She died on 17 Feb 1825 in Wye House, Talbot County, Maryland.

Her husband was Edward IV Lloyd, who she married on 19 NOV 1767 in Easton, Talbot County, Maryland. Their seven known children were Ann (1769-1841), Rebecca (1771-1848), Elizabeth Phoebe (1774-1849), Eleanor (1776-1805), Edward V (1779-1834), Maria (1782-1868) and Mary Tayloe (1784-1859).
